Seven, including Kamal Thapa and Deepak Singh, released; one still in custody



KATHMANDU:  Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal (RPP-N) Chair Kamal Thapa, lawmaker Deepak Singh, and five others detained during a royalist protest on Sunday afternoon have been released.

According to Kathmandu District Police, a total of seven individuals detained from Narayanchaur were freed, while one remains in custody as investigations continue.

The group was detained after attempting to breach a restricted area and march towards Baluwatar. Lawmaker Singh was reportedly arrested while on his way to meet Chair Thapa.
