Transport Office Hetauda collects over Rs 456 million in nine months



BAGMATI: The Transport Management Office in Hetauda, Makawanpur, has collected over Rs 456.6 million in revenue during the first nine months of the current fiscal year 2081/82.

According to Office Chief Praveen Shrestha, the revenue was generated from new vehicle registrations, license renewals, and the issuance of driving licenses between Shrawan and Chaitra (mid-July, 2024 to mid-April 2025).

Out of the total amount, Rs 78.71 million was collected from the distribution of driving licenses, Rs 282.74 million from vehicle taxes, Rs 71.58 million from income generated through various transport services, Rs 31.49 million under federal allocations, and Rs 8,250 from the settlement of outstanding dues.

During the same period, a total of 4,351 new vehicles were registered, including 2,234 motorcycles, 847 small vehicles, 626 tempos or e-rickshaws, 624 large and medium vehicles, and 11 tractors.

The office also issued 4,781 new and 2,161 upgraded class driving licenses to 5,359 individuals.

Additionally, 4,781 licenses were renewed, 76 duplicate licenses were issued, and 63 were processed as both renewals and duplicates.

In the previous fiscal year 2080/81, the office had collected Rs 567.17 million in revenue and registered 4,399 vehicles.
