PM Oli calls for broader access to employment opportunities

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Oli has emphasized the need to ensure that all citizens have broad and equitable access to employment opportunities.

Speaking at the launch of the ‘Shramsansar’ online portal on the occasion of the 136th International Workers’ Day (May Day), PM Oli highlighted the importance of addressing challenges related to foreign employment.

He stressed that all government services related to labor, employment, and social security should be made easily accessible by integrating them into the Nagarik App.

Underlining the critical role of information technology in achieving the vision of a “Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali,” Oli stated that IT is essential for building a knowledge-based society, driving a digital economy, achieving development goals, and delivering public services more efficiently.

He further shared that the government is incorporating the use of IT in the labor market in its upcoming policies and programs.

PM Oli also announced that strategic plans are underway to observe the next decade as the Decade for Promoting Internal Employment, and called on all stakeholders to actively support this initiative.

The Shramsansar portal is designed to streamline employment-related services, analyze labor demand and supply, regulate employers, and improve service access by eliminating physical and bureaucratic barriers.

It aims to enhance skills, manage the labor force effectively, and promote inclusive growth from the grassroots level, thereby contributing to national prosperity.
