Focus is on an implementable budget, says FM Poudel



KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has said that the government’s focus is on presenting an implementable and realistic budget for the new fiscal year.

During a discussion with the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Affairs in the lead up to the budget estimates for the upcoming fiscal year, he suggested formulating realistic and implementable plans and programs rather than distributive ones.

Priority should be given to labour, skills, employment and manufacturing.

The Finance Minister stressed the need to seriously review programs related to social security and to integrate similar programs of various ministries and agencies.

On the occasion, Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Sharat Singh Bhandari said that priority should be given to utilizing the skills of migrant returnees and giving priority in domestic employment.

The Prime Minister’s Employment Program was also reviewed on the occasion.
