Tinkune protest: 20 more arrested



KATHMANDU: Twenty more individuals have been arrested in connection with Friday’s violent pro-monarchy protests in Tinkune, Kathmandu.

The Kathmandu District Police Range team arrested these individuals on charges of involvement in criminal activities during the protests that took place on March 28.

Those arrested include Kumar Basnet, Anikal Kumar Thapa, Taranath Bohara, Devendra Prasad Shrestha, Lok Bahadur Basnet, Ashiq Rai, Dan Bahadur Rai, Biju Nepal, Umesh Tamang, Bhanubhakta Poudel, Sarita KC, Sita Devi Rai, and Rabi Ranjan Kumar Singh.

In addition, Ashiq Kumar Mahato, Prem Kumar Singh, Radheshyam Yadav, Baran Yadav, Yovinda Raya, Laxmi Sunar, and Bishnu Jung Basnet have also been arrested.

Earlier, the police extended the remand of 41 individuals, including RPP Senior Vice Chair Rabindra Mishra and General Secretary Dhawal Shumsher Rana, who are also under investigation.

Other police units have also arrested additional individuals, who will also be presented in court today for a remand extension.
