Nepali Ambassador to Portugal presents credentials

LISBON: Nepal’s newly appointed Ambassador to Portugal, Prakash Mani Paudel, officially presented his credentials to Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa during a ceremony at Belem Palace in Lisbon on Monday.

Following the presentation, Ambassador Paudel held a courtesy meeting with President Sousa, where they discussed strengthening bilateral relations between Nepal and Portugal. According to the Nepali Embassy in Lisbon, the talks focused on enhancing mutual cooperation in trade, tourism, and diplomatic ties.

During the meeting, President Sousa congratulated Ambassador Paudel on his new role and extended his best wishes for a successful tenure. The discussion also included a request for Portugal to establish an embassy in Nepal, further deepening diplomatic engagement between the two nations.

Ambassador Paudel, who was appointed in January, arrived in Portugal on March 6 to officially assume his duties.
