Rabi Lamichhane to meet Speaker Devraj Ghimire today

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane is set to meet Speaker Devraj Ghimire today at 10 am at Singha Durbar, according to the party’s acting spokesperson Manish Jha.

During the meeting, Lamichhane is expected to formally request the lifting of his suspension as a Member of Parliament (MP). RSP had earlier submitted a letter to the Speaker, urging an end to his suspension.

Lamichhane had temporarily stepped down from his role as party chair following an investigation into the cooperative fraud case, appointing DP Aryal as acting chair. However, he attended Monday’s party meeting in his capacity as chair.

The meeting with the Speaker is seen as a crucial step in determining Lamichhane’s political future and parliamentary status.
