PM reminded for revising some provisions of Cooperative Ordinance

KATHMANDU: The Central Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Department of the CPN (UML) and the National Cooperative Federation of Nepal have suggested the government that it revised some provisions of recently brought ordinance to amend some Nepal Acts related to cooperatives through replacement bill.

Submitting the memorandums separately to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at the PM’s official residence, Baluwatar today, both organisations drew PM Oli’s attention towards the urgency to correct some provisions in the ordinance so that the cooperative sector would be systematized.

Department Head Khag Raj Adhikari and Federation Chair Om Devi Malla submitted the documents of suggestion on the ordinance.

They have demand the inclusion of a provision to not allow a person to be elected in the same post for two terms in row.

Receiving the memorandum, PM Oli assured discussions on such issues through the replacement bill. It also requires consultation with the ruling parties, he informed.
