Two arrested for scamming Rs 5.9 million by offering jobs in the US



KATHMANDU: Two men have been arrested for scamming people by promising to send them to the United States for work.

The suspects are Kul Bahadur Thapa, 43, from Bharatpur, Chitwan, originally from Gorkha, and Rajan Ale, 31, who lives in Kathmandu but is also originally from Gorkha.

They were caught on Tuesday in Sinamangal by the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.

Police say the two took Rs 5.9 million from victims, promising jobs in the US, and then disappeared.

After the victims reported the scam, the suspects were arrested and sent to the District Police Office for further investigation.
