Two dead in tractor-motorcycle collision in Sarlahi



KATHMANDU: Two people lost their lives in an accident last night on the New Road section of Sarlahi when a tractor and a motorcycle collided.

The incident took place at Shanti Chowk, Barahathawa Municipality-9, when a tractor carrying sugarcane (Ja1 Ta 9876) collided with a motorcycle (Ja 4 Pa 377) heading towards Barahathawa from New Road.

The deceased have been identified as Harindra Mahato and Purushottam Das.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Deepak Shrestha, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Sarlahi, Mahato succumbed to his injuries at Advance Sanjeevani Hospital in Barahathawa, while Das passed away during treatment at Bayodha Hospital in Birgunj.

The tractor, its driver, and the motorcycle involved in the accident have been taken into custody by the police.

DSP Shrestha stated that an investigation into the incident is underway.
