4.6 magnitude earthquake felt in Baitadi



KATHMANDU: Tremors of an earthquake were felt this morning in the hilly districts of Sudurpaschim Province, including Baitadi.

The earthquake, which occurred at 7:54 am, registered a magnitude of 4.6 on the Richter scale.

The epicenter was located in Nwaghar, Sigas Rural Municipality-7, Baitadi, as confirmed by Chintan Timalsina, head of the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center in Surkhet.

The tremors were felt in several districts, including Baitadi, Bajhang, Dadeldhura, and Doti.

Authorities have yet to report any details regarding the extent of damage caused by the earthquake.

The District Police Office in Baitadi has stated that they are monitoring the situation and will provide further updates as necessary.

Residents in the affected areas are urged to stay alert, and authorities continue to assess the impact of the earthquake.
