CPN (Unified Socialist) forms task force to select central committee members

KATHMANDU: The CPN (Unified Socialist) has established a three-member task force to select the party’s central committee members, as well as the names and nominations for central commissions.

The decision was made during a committee meeting held on Wednesday, which appointed Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, senior leader Jhalnath Khanal, and General Secretary Ghanshyam Bhusal to the task force.

The next central committee meeting, scheduled for August 2, will finalize the central committee members and commissions.

Although the party recently held a successful general convention, it has yet to complete its central committee and appoint all office bearers.

The convention unanimously elected three office bearers and 90 central committee members.

According to the party statute, the central committee should consist of 299 members and 21 office bearers.

However, the party has decided to expand the central committee to include 329 members.
