Parsa District Police Office cracks down on Chinese online fraud gang



PARSA: The Parsa District Police Office has arrested members of a Chinese gang involved in online fraudulence activities.

Among those arrested are 33-year-old Lui Gui Kei from Hunan Province, 26-year-old Wang Wohan, and 36-year-old Qiang Chao from Hubei Province.

The arrests come in connection with charges of defrauding Nepali and foreign citizens through various online schemes, including lottery scams and fraudulent shopping offers.

Acting on monitoring, a specialized team from the District Police Office apprehended the suspects on Saturday from Birgunj Metropolitan Municipality-15.

Authorities confiscated a significant cache of equipment from the Chinese nationals, including 120 computers, 180 monitors, 3 passports, 35 mobile phones, 13 Indian SIM cards, 4 laptops, 1 printer, 3 ATMs from various banks, and 26 keyboards.

Moreover, an ongoing investigation is underway regarding the three individuals apprehended, who were found in possession of five internet switches, two WiFi routers, two mini inverters, a motorcycle, as well as foreign currency.
