NEPSE drops by 17 points, substantial decline in share price of Sarbottam Cement

KATHMANDU: On the first trading day of the week, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index plummeted by 17.30 points to settle at 2,018.33 points today.

A total of 7,957,659 shares of 316 companies were traded, totaling a turnover of Rs. 3,205,332,324.

While Non-Life Insurance Group’s sub-index rose by 0.12 percent, all other group sub-indices witnessed a decline today.

Production and Processing Group saw a decrease of 3.65, Trading by 1.74, Microfinance by 1.20, and Development Bank by 1.09 percent.

Banking dropped by 0.53, Finance by 0.62, Hotel and Tourism by 0.76, Hydropower by 0.08, Investment by 0.79, Life Insurance by 0.99, Mutual Fund by 0.73, and Other Group’s sub-index fell by 0.71 percent.

However, the share price of Sarbottam Cement Limited witnessed a substantial decline by 9.99 percent.

Based on the transaction amount and the number of shares Sarbottam Cement had the highest turnover as a total of 290,136 shares of Sarbottam Cement Limited were traded at Rs. 286,893,331 today.
