KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress, the main opposition party, has made a decisive move to vote against Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Shalikram Jamkattel, in an upcoming confidence vote.
In a meeting held today in Kathmandu, the party’s Bagmati province committee directed its parliamentary party in the province to oppose CM Jamkattel in the confidence vote scheduled for Monday.
CM Jamkattel, aiming to secure his position, must attain 56 out of 110 votes in his favor.
Currently, the political landscape in Bagmati Province sees 37 lawmakers from NC, 27 from CPN-UML, 21 from CPN (Maoist Center), 12 from RPP, seven from CPN (US), three from Nepal Workers Peasants Party, and two from Hamro Nepali Party.
