Rainfall coupled with thunderstorms expected today

KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has reported the influence of westerly winds, local winds, and cyclonic structures around India’s Madhya Pradesh and Odisha, currently affecting Nepal.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to be clear in the hilly regions, while the rest of the country will experience partly to mostly cloudy conditions.

There’s a chance of rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some hilly areas.

Similarly, there’s a possibility of light snowfall in select highlands and Himalayan areas.

During the night, the hilly areas will mostly remain clear, while other regions will be partly cloudy.

Light snowfall may occur in a couple of places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions.

Due to the anticipated light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning, particularly in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces, as well as isolated areas elsewhere, daily life activities such as agriculture, health services, tourism, mountain climbing, road, and air transport may be partially affected.

The Division has urged the people to take necessary precautions.
