CHITWAN: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Shashank Koirala has underscored the responsibility of political parties in preserving the Constitution.

Speaking to the media at Bharatpur Airport, he emphasized that any attempt to tamper with the Constitution is detrimental.

“The achievements of a prolonged struggle should not be taken lightly,” he stated, highlighting the importance of safeguarding the hard-won gains.

Dr. Koirala expressed concern that reverting to a monarchy would compromise the accomplishments of the movement and emphasized the need to defend them.

Furthermore, he disclosed that the current community-focused programs by the Congress were strategically aligned with the upcoming elections in 2084 BS.

This illustrates the party’s commitment to participating actively in shaping the country’s political landscape within the framework of the Constitution, he added.
