Time card introduced on Bhaluwang-Narti road to prevent accidents

KATHMANDU: Authorities have introduced a time card system on the 15-kilometer stretch of the Bhaluwang-Narti road under the East-West Highway to reduce the increasing number of road accidents.

The system came into effect today following a joint decision by the District Coordination Committee, District Administration Office, and other relevant stakeholders.

The time card system mandates a speed limit of 40 kilometers per hour for vehicles traveling this section of the highway, according to Krishna Prasad Lamsal, Chief Officer of the District Coordination Committee.

The implementation of the time card is part of a broader effort to enhance road safety in the district, where accidents have been on the rise.

Authorities have also decided to repair potholes along the same road to further reduce risks for drivers and passengers.

This initiative is expected to ensure safer travel and minimize accidents on one of the busiest stretches of the East-West Highway.
