Bangladesh wins SAFF Women’s Championship; Nepal finishes as runner-up

KATHMANDU: Bangladesh has won the SAFF Women’s Championship title, while Nepal once again had to settle for the runner-up position.

Bangladesh defeated the home team Nepal by a score of 2-1 in the final held at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar.

In the 52nd minute, Bangladesh scored to take a 1-0 lead, while in the 55th minute, Amisha Karki scored for Nepal, leveling the match. Again, Bangladesh took the lead in the 80th minute, making the score 2-1.

With this victory, Bangladesh has won the SAFF Championship title for the second consecutive time. They had previously defeated Nepal in the 2022 SAFF final to secure their first title. Meanwhile, this marks the sixth time Nepal has been defeated in the SAFF final.
