KATHMANDU: Nepal triumphed over Scotland by five wickets in the One Day International match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League-2 Series.
After losing the toss and being put in to bat at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, Scotland was bowled out for just 154 runs in 41.4 overs.
Spinner Sandeep Lamichhane was instrumental in limiting Scotland’s innings, claiming three wickets, while Karan KC, Sompal Kami, and Gulshan Jha each took two wickets.
Arif Sheikh added one more dismissal. Mark Watt was the top scorer for Scotland, making 34 runs, as the rest of the batting lineup struggled.
Nepal successfully chased down the target in 29.5 overs, with Arif Sheikh leading the charge with 51 runs.
Kushal Bhurtel and Gulshan Jha contributed 25 runs each, while Asif Sheikh added 21 runs.
For Scotland, Brandon McMullen took two wickets, with Bradley Currie, Mark Watt, and Jack Jarvis each claiming one.
It’s worth noting that Nepal lost their first match of the tri-series against the US by three wickets, while Scotland had previously defeated the US by ten wickets.
