KATHMANDU: The 23rd National Conference of ANNFSU(R), a student organization affiliated with the Maoist Center, witnessed clashes over leadership age limit.

The clash erupted following a dispute regarding the age limit for leadership positions.

Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has urged student leaders to vote on the age limit issue, proposing an election to determine whether an age limit should be enforced for revolutionary leadership.

However, tensions escalated as disagreements arose over proposed age limits of 28, 30, and 32 years, leading to a chaotic scene at the conference venue, according to a representative present at the event.

The representative reported that clashes between opposing factions intensified, creating a tense atmosphere.

The conference had previously been postponed due to adverse weather conditions, including rains and floods.
