Monsoon winds affecting Nepal, rain likely

KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has announced that monsoon winds are currently impacting the country, with additional effects from a low-pressure system in India’s Madhya Pradesh and surrounding areas.

According to the Division, weather conditions will range from partial to general cloud cover nationwide.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to be partly to mostly cloudy skies across the country, with light to moderate rain possible in some hilly regions and a few other areas.

Tonight, the weather will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly regions, including Koshi Province.

However, light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, may occur in parts of Koshi, Gandaki, and a few areas in Bagmati Province.

With rain anticipated in various regions over the next 24 hours, the Division has urged residents to take necessary precautions to mitigate risks associated with potential disasters such as flash floods, landslides, and erosion.
