Single room accommodates all SEE students in Manang

MANANG: In a unique setup reflecting the district’s small student population, all Secondary Education Examination (SEE) candidates from Manang district are convening for their exams in a single room.

Manang, with the lowest number of SEE students, has designated only one exam center for this purpose.

This year, there are 40 students participating in the SEE, which is the nationwide examination for 10th graders.

The examination commenced on March 28, covering subjects such as English and Nepali.

According to Mati Lal Chapai, chief of the district education development and coordination unit, the single room is deemed sufficient for conducting exams for the remaining subjects as well.

An interesting aspect of this examination center is the presence of a mother and son as examinees: Radha Thapa Chhetri, 42, and her son Jay Ram, 16.

Chapai emphasized that the exams have been conducted peacefully and with dignity. Even the Chief District Officer visited the center to monitor the examination process.

Furthermore, Chapai reassured that exam invigilators are maintaining a vigilant watch, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for the examinees.

A total of 14 security personnel, comprising both civil and armed forces, have been deployed to ensure security arrangements at the exam center.

Among the total listed candidates for the exam, one student was absent. Superintendent Shaym Krishna Pant reported that there are 23 female and 14 male students participating in the examination.

In Manang district, there are three secondary schools. Prakash Jyoti Secondary School and Lokpriya Secondary School each have 19 students, while Annapurna Secondary School has one student taking the exam.
