Government offices to operate till 5 pm from today



KATHMANDU: All government offices across the country will extend their working hours, remaining open until 5 pm effective today.

The decision, communicated through a notice published in the Nepal Gazette, stipulates that office hours will now be from 10 am to 5 pm starting from January 30.

Previously, the government had enforced office hours from 10 am to 4 pm, spanning from November 2, 2023, to January 29, 2024.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has further detailed that on Fridays, offices will open from 10 am to 3 pm.

The government has also implemented a lunch break from 1.30 pm to 2.00 pm during regular working hours.

This extension aims to enhance public service accessibility and streamline government operations, it is said.
