Nepal bags first gold medal in Karate



KATHMANDU: Nepal has won the gold medal in the International Open Karate Championship held in Pune of Maharashtra, India.

Nepal won the first gold medal in the age-group ‘kata’ performance.

Nepali karate player Siddhartha Rana won the gold medal in the age group of 10 years.

More than 100 athletes from different regions of India including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka are participating in the tournament organized by the Indian National Karate Association.

As part of the competition, final matches of different age and weight groups will be held on Sunday and Monday.

Eighteen male and female players from Nepal are participating in the competition.
