Karnali Province to have infrastructure labs

SURKHET: All nine districts of Karnali Province will have quality control laboratories.

Information officer at Ministry of Physical Infrastructures and Urban Development in the province, Prabin Karki, said that the ministry was setting up the infrastructure laboratories within this fiscal year.

Quotas for nine lab technicians were created to run the labs, he added. The province capital, Surkhet, had already got such lab in the fiscal year, 2079/80.

It has been operative for all nine districts. The facility generates Rs 2 million in revenue annually.

The construction materials like sand, cement and pebbles are tested whether they meet quality and standard.

Similarly, the facility determines the quality of blacktopped roads.
