Floods in Sunsari displace over 500 families

SUNSARI: Over 500 families have been impacted by rain-induced flooding in Sunsari.

Local official Wajuddin Mansuri reported that more than 40 houses in Koshi rural municipality-4 have been submerged.

Additionally, Pradeep Dhakal, a ward member of Inaruwa municipality-1, noted that several homes in wards 1, 3, 4, and 8 have also experienced flooding.

Areas such as Harinagar, Dewanganj, Bhokraha, Duhabi, Barju rural municipality, and Itahari sub-metropolitan city have been affected as well.

In total, over 500 families in the district have been reported to be impacted by the flood.

In a related incident, one person was electrocuted in Barahkshetra Municipality-4. Bikhon Chaudhary, 55, lost his life due to an electric shock while charging his City Safari e-rickshaw.

District Police Office Spokesman Naveen Krishna Bhandari confirmed that he died at the scene.
