Monsoon conditions triggering rainfall and possible flooding

KATHMANDU:  The Weather Forecast Division has stated that monsoon winds are currently impacting Nepal.

The Division has indicated partial to normal precipitation across the country, with light rain occurring in a few areas of Gandaki and Bagmati provinces.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to be partly to mostly cloudy nationwide.

Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thundershowers, is likely in various regions.

Heavy rain is possible in one or two locations in Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.

Tonight, the weather will range from partly cloudy to mostly cloudy in the hilly areas and partly cloudy to mostly clear in the remaining regions.

Light to moderate rain with lightning may occur in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in one or two places in the remaining provinces.

Over the next 24 hours, there is a chance of heavy rain in one or two locations in Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.

The Division has advised residents to take necessary precautions to mitigate the risk of disasters such as flash floods, landslides, and erosion in these areas.
