KATHMANDU: Minister of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Deepak Khadka and American Ambassador to Nepal Dean R. Thompson held a meeting today at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation.

During their discussion, a range of topics concerning Nepal-US relations were covered.

Minister Khadka emphasized Nepal’s commitment to strengthening the 77-year-old relationship with the United States.

He highlighted the energy sector as a crucial component of Nepal’s economic development and stressed the importance of continued American support for advancing this sector.

“America has provided significant support to Nepal’s development through USAID, and I am confident this support will persist in the future,” Minister Khadka stated.

He also assured that the government is working to address legal challenges impeding the energy sector’s progress.

In response, Ambassador Thompson affirmed America’s readiness to collaborate on Nepal’s economic and social development.

He reiterated his commitment to supporting the growth of Nepal’s energy sector moving forward.
