KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, has accused the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML of targeting his party.

Speaking during a special session of the House of Representatives on Monday, Lamichhane stated that recent speeches by the Prime Minister and Congress-UML MPs indicate a deliberate attempt to undermine the RSP.

Lamichhane asserted that the ongoing activities in Parliament have underscored the necessity of the RSP for the country’s progress.

Although he had previously remained silent, Lamichhane felt compelled to address the allegations against him in the House.

He emphasized that he did not wish to have corruption investigations reopened.

He also mentioned that the investigation into Kailash Sirohiya’s citizenship case and the issue surrounding the Bansbari Leather Shoe Factory are still ongoing.

Responding to accusations that he had biased investigations during his tenure as Home Minister, Lamichhane called for serious attention to the matter.
