Update: Mother, son die in Pokhara school bus accident

POKHARA: In a devastating incident this morning, a mother and her 5-year-old son lost their lives in a school bus accident in Pokhara.

Aarati BK, an office assistant at a local school, and her son Prince BK, a UKG student, were among those killed in the mishap at Chharchhare, Pokhara Metropolitan City-21.

The accident occurred as school bus (Ga 1 Kha 6219) was returning from LP Devkota Memorial School in Pokhara-17 Birouta, carrying students.

Initially reported with 22 injuries, the toll has risen to 28 wounded, who are currently receiving medical care at Gandaki Medical College, Manipal Teaching Hospital, and Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences.

The bus reportedly fell approximately 50 meters from the road.

Authorities are investigating the incident to determine the cause of the accident, as the community mourns this tragic loss.
