India and South Africa clash in T20 World Cup Final today

KATHMANDU: India and South Africa are set to face off today in the ICC T20 World Cup final.

The match will begin at 8:15 pm Nepali time in Bridgetown.

India secured their spot in the final by defeating the defending champions England by 68 runs in the second semifinal.

India has won the T20 World Cup once before, in the inaugural tournament in 2007.

They reached the final again in 2014 but were defeated by Sri Lanka.

South Africa, on the other hand, is playing in their first-ever final.

They reached the final by beating Afghanistan by nine wickets in the first semifinal.

South Africa had previously reached the semifinals in 2009 and 2014.

Both teams have remained unbeaten in the ninth edition of this World Cup, with South Africa winning eight matches and India seven.

India’s match against Canada was interrupted by rain, resulting in shared points.

The ninth edition of the T20 World Cup is jointly hosted by the USA and the West Indies.

The tournament, which started on June 2, saw the participation of 20 countries.

Nepal, playing in the T20 World Cup for the second time, was eliminated in the group stage.
