KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has indicated a high likelihood of heavy rainfall across Nepal due to the activation of the monsoon.

The weather is expected to remain generally to fully cloudy throughout the country.

Forecast Details:

General Weather: The Division has predicted light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and a few areas in other provinces.

Heavy Rainfall: There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces, with very heavy rainfall anticipated in a couple of places in Gandaki Province.

Weather outlook for Sunday:

Daytime: The weather will be generally to fully cloudy across the country.

Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms is expected in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpashchim provinces, and a few areas in other provinces.

Heavy rainfall is likely in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, with very heavy rainfall in a couple of places in Gandaki Province.

Nighttime: The weather will remain generally to fully cloudy. Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms is expected in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and a few areas in other provinces. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
Precautionary Measures:

Given the forecast, there is a risk of flash floods, landslides, and soil erosion, especially in areas expecting heavy to very heavy rainfall.

These conditions may partially affect daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, road, and air transportation in the affected areas.

People in vulnerable areas are advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions to mitigate potential damage and disruption caused by severe weather conditions.
