Deuba’s residence hosts opposition parties’ meeting: Madhav Nepal joins discussion

KATHMANDU: Sher Bahadur Deuba, the President of the main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC), convened a meeting with opposition leaders.

During the gathering of opposition parties held in Budhanilkantha, Madhav Kumar Nepal, the chairman of the ruling CPN-Unified Socialist, also participated.

He arrived in Budhanilkantha accompanied by lawmaker Metmani Chaudhary.

Upendra Yadav, the president of Janata Samajbadi Party, left the meeting 10 minutes earlier in Budhanilkantha.

Subsequently, the chairmen of Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, Mahantha Thakur, and Unified Socialist, Nepal, departed from Budhanilkantha together.

Deuba has called for a meeting of opposition party leaders on the day following the tabling of the budget for the new fiscal year in parliament.

The leaders have remained tight-lipped about the discussions held at Deuba’s residence.

However, reportedly, the discussions were centered around the current political scenario and the formation of the Madhes government.

In recent times, Madhav Nepal has expressed discontent with the ruling coalition parties.
