Schools in Janakpurdham closed for five days due to extreme heat



KATHMANDU: Schools in Janakpurdham will be closed for five days due to extreme temperatures in the region.

The Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City issued a notice informing that schools in the sub-metropolis will remain closed from Thursday for five days.

Mehi Lal Yadav, the chief administrative officer at the sub-metropolis, stated that the decision was made out of concern for students’ health following the surge in temperatures to extreme levels.

The government has also warned the general public in the Terai region to stay cautious, with a heat wave forecasted for the coming three days.
