Bajhang-1 vote count: Nepali Congress takes the lead

KATHMANDU: The by-election in Bajhang-1 continues with a twist as the Nepali Congress (NC) overtakes the CPN-UML, reversing the latter’s lead since Sunday night.

As per the most recent updates, Abhisek Singh of the Nepali Congress has secured 7,492 votes, edging past UML candidate Daman Bhandari who garnered 7,228 votes.

With a lead of 264 votes, the Nepali Congress has established a strong position in the fiercely contested Bajhang Province.

Meanwhile, Maoist candidate Janak Budha has secured the third position with 2,895 votes, closely followed by Dil Bahadur Singh of the Unified Socialist Party in fourth place with 2,122 votes.
