KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division, Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, has forecasted that the light rainfall experienced in various parts of the country over the past few days is expected to persist until Saturday.
However, there is good news as the weather is anticipated to gradually improve starting from Sunday, following the reduced impact of the westerly wind.
Raju Pradhananga, a meteorologist at the Department, highlighted that the pre-monsoon activity has been particularly active in the eastern part of the country.
This is attributed to local winds, the proximity of a low-pressure system to Nepal, and the influx of moisture-laden winds from the Bay of Bengal.
“At present, the weather across the country is characterized by partly to generally cloudy conditions. Rainfall is occurring in some hilly areas within the Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
However, we anticipate an improvement in weather conditions commencing from Sunday,” stated Pradhananga.
The Division has indicated that there are chances of light rain or thunder and lightning in a few locations within the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as some areas in the Terai region.
Additionally, there is a possibility of light snowfall at a few locations in the high hills and mountainous regions of the country.
