SALLERI: Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Kedar Karki, has unveiled plans to launch mountain flight operations from Biratnagar, with Sagarmatha region as its focal point.
Chief Minister Karki disclosed that the Biratnagar-Lukla mountain flight route would soon be operationalized, prioritizing the tourism development of the Mt. Everest region.
Expressing concerns about the geographical disconnect between Khumbu and the federal capital, CM Karki emphasized the province’s commitment to address this issue.
He stated that preparations to initiate mountain flight services from Biratnagar were underway and expected to materialize within a few months.
Furthermore, CM Karki announced a visit to the Sagarmatha region alongside a team to commemorate ‘Sagarmatha Day’ on May 29, aimed at fostering tourism development in Khumbu.
Highlighting the province government’s dedication to promoting the Sagarmatha region, CM Karki underscored the significance of leveraging tourism as a catalyst for regional growth and development.
