Foreign Minister dismisses rumors of govt collapse

KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba has urged the public to disregard rumors suggesting the government is on the brink of collapse.

Speaking at a congratulatory program in Dhangadhi on Saturday, organized for the newly elected office bearers and members of the Federation of Nepali Journalists’ Sudurpaschim Province Committee, Rana reassured the people that the ruling coalition is stable.

“I urge the people not to follow such rumors and misconceptions that suggest the government will fall,” Rana said, addressing concerns that have been circulating in recent days. “An understanding has been reached at the leadership level of the Nepali Congress and the UML. The ruling coalition will last for the entire term, and a task force has been formed by both parties to support the government.”

The Foreign Minister said the current government is progressing in line with the nation’s development, prosperity, and the people’s aspirations for good governance.

She expressed confidence that the formation of the coalition government, comprising the two major parties—the Nepali Congress and the UML—has instilled a renewed sense of hope and trust among the citizens.

Rana added the government is prioritizing social and economic development, underscoring its commitment to improving the lives of the people.
