Nepali Congress hosts final by-election rally for Kirtipur Mayoral candidate

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress has intensified its bid for the mayoral seat of Kirtipur Municipality by organizing a final election rally featuring its General Secretaries, Gagan Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma.

With the campaign deadline approaching at midnight, the party leveraged the presence of its senior leaders to support its candidate, Krishnaman Dangol.

Dangol, who has prioritized drinking water and health improvement as key agendas, received strong backing during Thursday’s rally, which saw significant voter enthusiasm, according to the candidate.

The mayoral seat in Kirtipur became vacant after the passing of Mayor Rajkumar Nakarmi, a Congress leader.

The Election Commission is set to hold by-elections for 42 local bodies, including Kirtipur, and two local coordination committees on December 1.
