KATHMANDU: Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies Damodar Bhandari emphasized the government’s commitment to collaborating with the private sector to boost economic activities.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the three-day Plast Nepal exhibition at Bhrikutimandap, Minister Bhandari highlighted that the challenges facing the national economy could not be overcome without private sector involvement.

He pointed to recent improvements in economic indicators as evidence of progress.

“The capital market must thrive, supported by increased domestic production and a reduced trade deficit,” he stated, adding that introducing the latest technologies would drive further economic growth.

Bhandari identified the key challenge as reducing imports and boosting exports, noting that efforts were underway to amend various laws related to industry and business. He assured that the government would encourage domestic investors.

The Minister also stressed that Nepal offers an investment-friendly environment, urging industrialists to remain confident and assured.

On the occasion, FNCCI Chairman Chandra Dhakal and other business leaders praised the government’s initiatives aimed at improving the economy, aligning with suggestions from the private sector.
