PM KP Sharma Oli’s China visit approved

The Cabinet meeting held on Thursday afternoon at Singha Durbar approved Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s official visit to China, scheduled to begin on December 1.

The delegation will comprise 87 members, including 39 government officials, among them ministers, and 48 representatives from the private sector.

PM Oli is set to depart for Beijing on December 2 for a four-day official visit.

Nepali Congress hosts final by-election rally for Kirtipur Mayoral candidate

Nepali Congress has intensified its bid for the mayoral seat of Kirtipur Municipality by organizing a final election rally featuring its General Secretaries, Gagan Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma.

With the campaign deadline approaching at midnight, the party leveraged the presence of its senior leaders to support its candidate, Krishnaman Dangol.

Dangol, who has prioritized drinking water and health improvement as key agendas, received strong backing during Thursday’s rally, which saw significant voter enthusiasm, according to the candidate.

RSP Chair Rabi brought to Kathmandu from Pokhara

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane has been brought to Kathmandu from Pokhara.

Supporters and party members chanted slogans during his transfer at Tribhuvan International Airport.

Lamichhane, who was in the custody of the Kaski District Police Office, was flown to Kathmandu after initially being transported to Pokhara via land following his arrest on October 18.

Kathmandu ranked as 11th most polluted city

Air pollution in Kathmandu Valley worsened today. As of air quality readings (1 pm), Kathmandu is now ranked the 11th most polluted city in the world.

Swiss air quality monitoring company IQAir placed Kathmandu in the top eleven of its global pollution index.

Foreign Minister Rana leaves for China

Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana left for China today to finalize preparations for the visit of Prime Minister KP Oli.

Minister Rana is visiting the People’s Republic of China from November 28 to 30, at the invitation of her Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, who is also a Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, as confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During her three-day visit, the Foreign Minister will hold bilateral talks with Wang Yi on November 29.

One killed, another critical injured in Bhaktapur road accident

A person died and another sustained critical injuries in a road accident that occurred this morning in Madhyapurthimi Municipality-3, Gaththaghar.

Jite Dyula of Dyula settlement in Bhaktapur Municipality-5 was critically injured and his spouse Nabina died in the accident.

The accident took place when a truck heading towards Kathmandu hit a scooter where the Dyula couple was travelling to.
