By-election: Preparation over at Tilagupha-4



KALIKOT: Preparation for the by-election has been over at ward no-4 of Tilagupha municipality in Kalikot district.

The ward is holding the election for the post of chairman on December 1. District Election Officer Dhan Bahadur Malla informed that all preparations were over for the ward chairman of Tilagupha-4.

A voting officer, one assistant election officer, two employees and an assistant were mobilized for the poll.

An all-party meeting was held today to enforce the election code of conduct effectively.

The silence period begins from Thursday night, according to him. The District Police Office has also beefed up security for the election.

There are 609 voters for a voting centre. The Nepali Congress has fielded Pail Bahadur Shahi as the candidate of ward chair while CPN UML nominated Ain Bahadur Shahi, Nepal Workers and Peasant Party fielded Khadka Bahadur Shahi, and Rastriya Swatantra Party picked Gagan Bam.

Naishova Shahi is the candidate from CPN (Maoist Centre), according to information officer at District Election Officer, Laxman Bahadur Shahi.

Then chairman of Tilagupha-4, Param Bahadur Shahi, had died in a landslide occurred on October 10, 2022.
