Mechi Highway obstructed as flood washes away bailey bridge



PANCHTHAR: The flood on Hewa River has swept away a bailey bridge along the Mechi Highway, following the incessant rainfall.

Chairperson of Phidim municipality-4, Upendra Lawati, said the bailey bridge was washed away by the flood.

The bailey bridge was constructed here after the flood on the rivulet swept away the bridge on June 17, 2023.

Mechi highway has been completely obstructed. After the highway obstruction, road connectivity at Hilihang rural municipality and Yangwarak rural municipality of Panchthar district as well as Taplejung districts has been disconnected.
