BP Highway blocked, Mulkot resorts and Khurkot bus park submerged

KATHMANDU: Torrential rains have led to severe flooding in the resorts of the Mulkot region of Sindhuli, located along the BP Highway.

The floods, triggered by the swelling Sunkoshi River, have submerged the bus park of Khurkot market.

Authorities have urged local communities  on high alert as rainfall continues unabated.

In addition to the Sunkoshi River, the Roshi Khola River has also caused significant damage, destroying a section of the Nepalthok road on the same highway. Portions of the road near the Nepalthok police station were washed away, resulting in the closure of the Nepalthok-Mulkot route.

Police reports indicate that several huts and a concrete house near the Kusheshwar Mahadev Temple in Dumja were swept away by the river’s rising waters.
