Task force meeting today to finalize probe panel ToR

KATHMANDU: The task force formed to draft the Terms of Reference (ToR) for the proposed parliamentary investigation committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday to finalize the terms.

The meeting is scheduled for 11 AM at the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs in Singha Durbar.

The meeting will conclude the agreements reached between the ruling and opposition parties on Monday.

With these agreements in place, parliamentary sessions are expected to run smoothly.

The ruling and opposition parties have agreed to form a seven-member probe committee, including representatives from five political parties.

The committee will consist of two members each from the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML, and one member each from the CPN (Maoist Center), Rastriya Swatantra Party, and Rastriya Prajatantra Party.

Additionally, the parties have agreed not to mention Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane by name but will investigate the cooperatives and companies where he is suspected to have been involved.
