Govt to solicit letters of intent for 20 projects, primarily hydropower, at 3rd Investment Summit

The government has outlined plans to request letters of intent for 20 projects, predominantly focusing on hydropower initiatives, during the 3rd Investment Summit, which kicks off in the federal capital today. Both domestic and international investors are being invited to express interest in the identified projects, which have undergone feasibility studies. Among the projects, the Dhulikhel Medicity Project stands out, with a proposed investment of Rs 11 billion aimed at establishing a super-specialty hospital in Dhulikhel, Kavrepalanchowk, with the objective of fostering medical tourism.

FNCCI and NCCIM ink trade agreement at Nepal Investment Summit

In a bid to foster trade and investment promotion, the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and Malaysia’s National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCIM) have signed bilateral agreements during the ongoing Third Investment Summit. The signing ceremony, a highlight of the summit’s opening session, saw FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal and NCCIM President Tan Sri Dato’ Soh Thian Lai formalizing the agreements on behalf of their respective organizations.

Disciple rape Case: High Court orders ‘Siddhababa’ to Appear Within 30 Days

The Supreme Court has directed ‘spiritual guru’ Krishna Bahadur Giri, also known as ‘Siddhababa’, to appear in court within 30 days. The bench comprising Judges Naresh Kumar Chaudhary and Shreedharakumari Pudasaini issued the summons for Giri to attend court. Failure to comply within the stipulated 30-day period will result in the court proceeding with the hearing and delivering its verdict.

Swarnalaxmi cooperative’s depositors file case demanding refund

Depositors of Swarnalaxmi Multipurpose Cooperative have gathered at Kathmandu Metropolitan Circle, Kalimati, demanding the return of their deposited funds. Suman Khanal, Chairman of the Victims’ Struggle Committee of Swarnalaxmi Multipurpose Cooperative, stated that 528 depositors assembled at the Kalimati Police office to demand the return of their savings, amounting to approximately 1 billion rupees.

NEPSE rises by 14 points, transaction volume crosses 2.65 billion

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has surged by 14.33 points on Sunday, the first trading day of the week. NEPSE has reached 1980.27 points, rising by 0.72 points. In terms of transactions, Sunday has been relatively stable for NEPSE. A total of 6,814,413 shares worth Rs. 2.65 billion have been traded in 308 companies. During today’s trading, the share prices of 180 companies have increased while those of 55 companies have decreased. Likewise, the prices of shares of nine companies remained stable.

Nepal loses to West Indies ‘A’, series tied 1-1

Nepal faced defeat against West Indies ‘A’ in the second match of the T20 cricket series, resulting in a 1-1 tie in the series. In the second match held at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Sunday, Nepal was defeated by 10 runs against West Indies ‘A’. With this result, the series stands at 1-1. Previously, in the match held on Saturday, Nepal had defeated West Indies ‘A’ by 4 wickets.
