Third Investment Summit in Kathmandu to showcase 151 projects, attracting global investors

KATHMANDU: The Third Investment Summit commences today in Kathmandu, with the government unveiling a tempting array of 151 projects.

This summit aims to draw foreign direct investment and propel the nation’s economic advancement.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ will inaugurate the event, which is expected to draw over 1600 investors from more than 55 countries.

The Nepal Investment Board has revealed that there will be 23 exhibition stalls providing detailed information on the projects, along with calls for concept notes for 19 projects.

The two-day summit features 11 parallel sessions, including an inauguration session and two major sessions on the first day.

Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with PM Dahal and Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun during the summit.

Co-organized by the private sector, recognized international figures such as Indian Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, State Minister for UK Asia Pacific Affairs Anne-Marie Trevelyan, and UNCTAD Secretary General Rebeca Grynspan will address the summit.

Other distinguished speakers include Vice President Chair of ADB Yingming Yang, Acting Vice Chair of Asian Infrastructures Investment Bank Rajit Mishra, and Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Shreevastav, among others.

Former Prime Minister and major opposition leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, Finance Minister and summit convention committee director Barsha Man Pun, and leaders from the Nepali business community will also contribute to the event.
