Two Ministers appointed to portfolios in Sudurpaschim Province

SUDURPASCHIM: Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah of Sudurpaschim Province has designated responsibilities to two ministers affiliated with the Nagarik Unmukti Party in the provincial government.

According to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Laxman Kishor Chaudhary has been appointed as the Minister for Social Development, while Khushiram Dagaura Tharu will serve as the Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forests, and Environment.

Previously without portfolio, both ministers were assigned roles as the province gears up for a vote of confidence from the Provincial Assembly.

Damodar Pandit, the party’s spokesperson, stated that the founding members decided to maintain the party’s stance concerning the federal and state governments during a meeting held in Tikapur on Wednesday.

Earlier, the party had expressed its support for Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ in the federal parliament.

In Sudurpaschim Province, the decision to back the current government, led by the Nepali Congress, was confirmed during a meeting of the Nagarik Unmukti Party’s parliamentary group.

Ghanashyam Chaudhary, Parliamentary Party Leader and Minister for Economic Affairs, affirmed the party’s unwavering support for the Shah-led government in the province.
