KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has sought immediate resignation of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Prakash Jwala in light of the damning findings against him by the government’s probe committee.

Speaking to journalists at Biratnagar Airport on Wednesday, UML Chairman Oli expressed his dismay, stating that while it is shameful for Minister Jwala to be found guilty, it is equally disgraceful for the government to overlook ethical considerations.

Oli highlighted the UML’s commitment to morality during its time in government and criticized the current administration for its perceived irresponsibility.

He attributed Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s inability to dismiss Minister Jwala, despite his culpability in the Balkumari incident, to a sense of helplessness.

Describing the current government as a “pile of ashes,” Oli asserted that its toppling is inevitable.

He clarified that the UML government is not contemplating a reshuffle, emphasizing the party’s focus on Mission 2084.

Oli further stated that the TRC Bill would be swiftly passed by Parliament once the conditions are conducive, cautioning the government and its alliance to be prepared for the impending development.
